Founded in 1994 by a small group of independent restaurant owners meeting after-hours in their own dining rooms, the First Capitol Restaurant Association (FCRA) was born from a simple but powerful idea: independent restaurants are stronger together.
From the beginning, our goal has been to help independent establishments—both large and small—find economies of scale and thrive in a competitive industry. What started in York and Chambersburg has grown into a diverse and dynamic network that now spans from the borders of New Jersey to Carlisle and the Poconos, and down into Northern Maryland.
Today, our membership includes not only traditional restaurants, but also pizza shops, diners, fire halls, social clubs, and a wide variety of foodservice operations that make up the heart of our local communities.
Headquartered at 110 Pine Grove Commons in York, PA, FCRA is committed to advancing the interests of locally owned dining establishments through advocacy, education, and opportunity. We provide our members with the resources, connections, and support they need to grow, adapt, and succeed.
Our mission is as clear now as it was in that first after-hours meeting: to support and sustain the vibrant and independent spirit of our regional restaurant industry.
Our motto says it all: Strength in Numbers.
